Skin 2 Skin Aging Intervention ($69) was created by founder Ken Simpson to reverse the visible damage from intensive treatments for 
a brain tumor. I didn’t have quite such a challenge for it, but was nevertheless impressed after a five-week test to see my skin undergo a transformation.
Specifically, my results were notably improved skin texture and glow and a reduction in fine lines. This is especially apparent on my lower cheeks where my skin had been starting to look a little papery and where the dimples of my youth were becoming track lines. Skin 2 Skin Aging Intervention has, in only a few weeks, smoothed them out and my skin has a more velvety texture. Continued use seems to have erased these lines almost completely and the overall texture is great with or without makeup.
Aging Intervention has a complex formula. There are no less than 33 different antioxidants, a very good and still rarely found peptide called ChroNoline and a marine extract that acts in the same way as conventional exfoliants such as retinol or AHAs.
ChroNoline is a tetrapeptide is made up of four amino acids and, like all peptides, it signals our bodies to do things – like get busy and produce more collagen, for example. Unlike most peptides, caprooyl tetrapeptide-3 is derived from a growth factor. It is supposed to increase collagen lll by 34% as well as laminin production by 26% and laminin 5 by 49%. Laminins are critical in keeping the epidermis adhered to the dermis.
Lanablue is a blue-green algae extract from the Pacific Northwest. It has a ton of nutritional properties including vitamins, amino acids and trace elements. It is supposed to be a natural retinol alternative without the side effects (irritation, dryness) and encourages skin regeneration.
Amongst the too-numerous-to-mention antioxidants, there is alpha lipoic acid, an anti-inflammatory with skin whitening and tightening effects. It contains sulphur and helps restore other antioxidants such as vitamin C and E. Also well worth a call-out is Elixir-IR, produced from knotweed. This inhibits an enzyme called inhibitory cathepsin G and limits UV and infrared damage.
I have used Skin 2 Skin Aging Intervention can be used its own morning and night or over a targeted serum.
