Skin2Skin Recovery Night & Dry Skin MoisturizerSkin 2 Skin Recovery, Night & Dry Skin had me fooled at the start. This light, whipped night cream for sensitive skin seemed gentle, but possibly too gentle. Was I really going to get anti-aging results, or just enjoy a pleasant, non-irritating moisturizer? Five days later, I realized that there may well be a hammer (in a good way) inside this velvet glove.

Mornings after using Recovery Night & Dry Skin moisturizer my skin started to look clearer and smoother. This cream purports to have a retinoid alternative and it seemed to be working. This is Lanablue, an extract of blue-green algae that encourages cell turnover without the retinol side effects redness, dry skin, sun sensitivity and irritation.

I certainly haven’t experienced any irritation, indeed my skin looked calmer with less redness. There is a very interesting ingredient in this formula that is responsible for this. Gatuline Derma-Sensitive is derived from caper buds and it reduces irritation and inflammation of sensitive skin via the inhibition of pro-inflammatory epidermal cytokines. The fatty acids in rosehip oil give it a helping hand.

Wrinkle reducing, firming peptide ChroNoLine is also a welcome addition. Of more than 30 antioxidants (mostly from botanicals), the most intriguing is Euk-134 (Eukarinon-134), a synthetic form of superoxide dismutase that is a radical scavenger.

I found this a pleasantly hydrating moisturizer that harnesses Australian super-fruits kakadu plum, illawarra plum and burdekin plum claiming to boost skin’s moisture by 60% increase in 30 minutes.

Although billed as a night cream for easily irritated skin, I would recommend this for multitasking and not just for sensitive types. This is not a heavy night moisturizer and it proves light enough for day use and can be used under a light foundation without pilling. As always with Skin 2 Skin, the formula is as clean as it gets.

The litmus test for me is that I actively look forward to using it before I head for bed and (which is big plus for someone edging perilously close to 60, I don’t dread the first bathroom mirror close-up of the next day.
